General Manager of Farabi Cinema Foundation speaking at screening ceremony of movie Mohammad (PBUH) in Baku, capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan said this film made by renowned Iranian film maker Majid Majidi can be used as a model for ambitious cooperation in the region.
According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture, Mr. Alireza Tabesh who accompanied Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mr. Abbas Salehi in his visit to Baku said such cooperation could include joint investment, promotion of cinema as well as exchange of experience in the region.
Talking about cooperation between Tehran and Baku in film industry, Mr. Tabesh said Iranian Cinema has a stable position globally and making use of Iranian expertise by Azeri film industry, has already started.
He added that a number of famous figures of Azeri cinema have attended international film festivals in Iran as judges as recently as last year’s Fajar International Film Festival which two azeri films, Pomegranate Orchard ( Baghe Anar) and Khannas were screened at the said festival and Asif Rostamov was a member of panel of Judges.
According to Mr. Tabesh production of a jointly invested film titled High Voltage or Silent Citadel is underway by Iranian and Azeri film makers.
