Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance during his meeting with visiting Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister said Tehran and Budapest can cooperate in three areas of Classic and contemporary literature as well as books for children.
According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture, Mr. Abbas Salehi said Hungary has been one the major centers for linguistic studies during the past 100 years and we can cooperate in this field and Iranology.
He also called for cooperation in other cultural sectors such as visual arts, theater, music, cinema, graphics and exchange of cultural groups.
Mr. Salehi said we are also willing to hold mutual art and cultural festival adding that Tehran and Budapest can also hold cultural weeks.
The Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister referring to importance of book reading in Iran said I have visited the very impressive Tehran International Book Fair and congratulate the country for holding such enormous cultural event.
The high ranking Hungarian diplomat said he is in Iran to visit the book fair and explore the possibility of translation of literary works of two countries into Hungarian and Persian languages.
He said translation of literary works will improve knowledge of people of the two countries about each other adding that Hungarian people are very fond of Iranian literature and in our universities we have Iranology department.
