Serbian Minister of Culture and Information who is Tehran attending Tehran International Book Fair as special gust in his meeting with head of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization expressed his pleasure for visiting Iran and said during his meeting with Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance told him that Iranians and Iranian culture have special place for his ministry and offered my readiness to cooperate with my Iranian counterpart in every possible areas
According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture Mr. Vladan Vukosavljevic said before coming to Iran I met the Patriarch of Serbian Church and he agreed with my idea of holding religious and cultural talks with Iran.
He added that such talks could take place within Islam-Christianity or Shiism-Orthodox Church framework adding that we intend to reflect these dialogs through public media such as TV and make people aware of the contents of such talks.
Referring to abolition of visa requirements for Iranian to visit Serbia, the Serbian Minister of Culture said we faced some objections by EU member for such decision but paid no attention to their criticism and we are happy about facilitating traveling of Iranians to our country.
Head of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization responding to suggestion of religious dialog said talks among adherents of various religions can free people from ideological captivity.
Mr. Ebrahimi Torkaman said there is an especial center in his organization for dialog among religions and the center has been very active and successful in its task in recent years.
He said in addition to religious dialog we have started cultural dialog with a number of countries including Italy, India, Afghanistan and countries of the Arab world.
