Minister of Culture in Meeting his Serbian counterpart: presence of Serbia as special gust of Tehran Book Fair is a turning point in two countries’ cultural relations
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance on Monday April 30 met his Serbian counterpart who is in Iran to attend Tehran International Book Fair.
According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture, Mr. Abbas Salehi talking to Serbian Minister of Culture and Information said participation of foreign countries at Tehran International Book Fair paves the way for lasting and expansion of cultural ties among nations. He said Iran and Serbia have good political and economic relations and by promoting their cultural ties can deepen their overall relations. Mr. Salehi said Iran and Serbia can cooperate in various areas including Persian carpet, Tehran Contemporary Art Museum, National Library, religious dialog and exchange of theater and music groups. The Serbian Minister of Culture Mr. Vladan Vukosavljevic said his country is special guest of this year’s Tehran Book Fair and we are pleased about this opportunity. He said we wish Serbian literature and specially poems to be translated to Persian so the Iranians can become more familiar with our culture. He said works of renowned Iranian poets like Ferdowsi and Khayyam have been in circulations in Serbia and are popular among certain segment of Serbian readers.
