Movie Yeva is being screened at US academic and cultural centers
Yeva made by Ali Gholi Zadeh and directed by Anahid Abad, is being screened at Law Faculty of Harvard University since Jan. 20. According to Public Relations Department of Farabi Film Foundation, the same film is also to be screened at the Armenian Film Association in Los Angeles from Friday Feb. 2. Yeva in jointly produced by Iran and Armenia and has previously shown at numerous international film festival, including Montréal, Mill Valley, Asian Film Festival in Los Angeles, Tbilisi, Palm Spring and Raphael Film Center. Yeva has also been nominated as the representative of Armenian Cinema for Oscar. Yeva is a young woman, who escapes her influential in-laws with her daughter Nareh, after her husband’s tragic death and takes refuge in one of the villages of Karabakh, Armenia…Yeva is a complete stranger in this village and is obliged to live her daily life in disguise. The movie, which has been shot in Armenia, depicts the social issues of the contemporary mankind..
