Iran and Poland are to boost their cultural cooperation as agreed by two countries’ cultural officials.
According to Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Culture, General Manager of Farabi Cinema Organization who is currently visiting Poland met the polish Deputy Minister of Culture and discussed ways for expansion of Tehran –Warsaw cultural cooperation.
During the meeting also attended by Iranian Ambassador to Warsaw, Mr. Alireza Tabesh referring to 5-centuries old relations between the two countries said Iran is ready to join hands with Poland for production of films aimed at introducing their respective culture to audiences of each countries.
Talking about Iranian Film Week in Warsaw he said during his stay in Polish capital he has met some people who are active in film industry and has also visited some studios . He said fortunately Polish film makers are quite eager to cooperate with their Iranian counterparts.
According to Mr. Tabesh, Polish TV channels have shown their interest to purchase Iranian films and also there is interest on Iranian films to be screened in Polish movie houses.
He also said Iran is willing to screen polish films in Iranian cinemas and asked concerned Polish authorities to help for achievement of this bilateral cooperation.
Polish Deputy Culture Minister expressed his pleasure for meeting head of Farabi Cinema Foundation and said ground is prepared for promotion of cultural ties adding that his government policy is based on helping country’s film industry and attracting foreign investment for this sector.
