German film Week opens in Tehran, Iran Germany to promote cultural ties
German Film Week got underway on Sunday Oct. 29 in Tehran in a ceremony attended by a group artists, ambassadors and officials.
According to Public Relations Department of Farabi Film Foundation, Mr. Ali Reza Tabesh, General Manger of the foundation in his inauguration speech welcomed the audience including the German Cultural Attaché to Tehran and said we are pleased that next week a gathering will be held in Frankfort Institute and Cinema Museum titled “Iranian Life Style” as depicted by Iranian cinema. Mr. Tabesh then praised German cinema and it pioneer role in film industry sine 1920s with its expressionist movie till a recent renaissance in the country’s film making. German Cultural Attaché to Tehran took the podium after Mr. Tabesh and said dialog and cooperation among nations starts with projects like film weeks. He added that During German Film Week 6 films 5 made by German filmmakers and 1 by Swiss, will be screened in cinemas in Tehran, Shiraz and Kerman.
